Career Highlights: Earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 and Honorable Mention All-Defensive Team honors as a junior. Has started 106 of 107 games played. Posted 19 career double-doubles. Currently ranks 15th all-time on UCLA’s career rebounding list with 775 boards.
Junior (2007-08): Averaged 8.8 points and 6.0 rebounds (tied for 11th in the Pac-10). Missed six games due to a variety of injuries. Scored in double figures 12 times. Posted seven double-doubles. Registered season-high 21 points on 7-for-10 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds vs. Davidson. Tallied 12 points and a season-high 13 rebounds at Michigan. Recorded 10 points and 11 rebounds vs. Stanford and 12 points and 10 rebounds vs. Cal in back-to-back games. Led team with 14 points and seven rebounds vs. Texas. Tallied 13 points, 13 rebounds and a season-high three steals vs. Xavier in the Regional Finals of the NCAA Tournament. Notched a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds vs. Memphis in the Final Four.
Sophomore (2006-07): Averaged 8.2 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds (ranked seventh in the Pac-10). Also ranked third in the league in steals (1.7 spg). Started all 35 games played, missing one contest due to a sprained right knee. Scored in double figures 13 times. Registered four double-doubles. Opened season by scoring a career-high 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds vs. BYU. Shot 8-for-12 from the field on his way to 18 points vs. Kentucky in the Maui Invitational. Tallied 15 points, 12 rebounds, four blocked shots and four steals vs. Oregon. Pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds vs. Arizona State. Grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds vs. Indiana in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Freshman (2005-06): Averaged 9.1 points and 8.2 rebounds. Started 38 of 39 games. Posted eight double-doubles. Recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds at Oregon and registered 14 points and 10 rebounds in the rematch. Tallied 12 points and nine rebounds at Stanford. Pulled down a season-high-tying 13 rebounds vs. West Virginia. Scored a season-high 17 points, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out a career-high six assists vs. Belmont in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Posted a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds vs. Gonzaga in the Sweet 16. Matched season-high of 17 points vs. LSU in the Final Four. Shared for the team lead with 10 rebounds in the national championship game vs. Florida.
Strengths: Uses blend of length, athleticism, quickness and effort to be effective on the glass and on the defensive end. Has the ability to guard any position on the floor. Continues to make strides on the offensive end.
Personal: Majoring in global studies. Has five brothers and three sisters. Is a prince in his village of Bafia (Bia Messe) in Cameroon.
