Senior (2007-08): Named to the All-ACC Second Team and ACC All-Defensive Team after finishing eighth in ACC in scoring (15.9 ppg), fourth in rebounding (7.9 rpg), third in field goal percentage (.496) and second in blocks (2.33 bpg). Recorded 14th career double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds vs. Syracuse in the NIT. Scored 19 points while matching career highs with five blocks and four steals vs. Boston College in ACC Tournament. Scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 11 rebounds at Wake Forest. Named Sporting News National Player of the Week on 2/11. Led squad with 22 points and a career-high 13 rebounds at UNC.

Junior (2006-07): All-ACC Honorable Mention pick after averaging 12.6 points and 7.2 rebounds. Led the Terps with 13.9 ppg in ACC play. Finished fourth in ACC in blocked shots (2.1 bpg) and seventh in rebounding (7.2 rpg). Scored in double figures in 18 of final 20 games on the season (13.5 ppg). Recorded at least one block in 30 of 34 games.

Sophomore (2005-06): Appeared in all 32 games, making 21 starts. Led the team and ranked fifth in ACC with 1.59 blocks per game. Recorded two or more blocks in 18 games, including three rejections in seven contests. Grabbed at least five rebounds in 19 games. Recorded first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds vs. No. 2 Duke.

Freshman (2004-05): Led team with 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting to go along with seven rebounds in NIT win over Davidson. Led Terps with 18 points at Va. Tech. Made first collegiate start in win over Va. Tech, recording eight points, seven rebounds and two blocks. Recorded 11 points, seven rebounds and four blocks in 31 minutes in win over Florida State.

Strengths: Athletic forward who plays with great energy. A tremendous leaper, with good shot-blocking instincts. Finishes with authority near the basket.

Personal: Participated in the Pan Am Games with Team USA. Son of Linda and James C. Gist, Jr. Has two sisters, Jasmine (23) and Gloria (15). Interests include movies, playing the piano, and traveling. Majoring in letters and sciences.
