Career Highlights: Earned Big 12 All-Rookie Team honors. Participated as a member of Team USA in the 2007 U-19 World Championships held in Serbia. Was a member of the USA Basketball Junior National Select Team that defeated the World Select Team at the 2007 Nike Hoop Summit held in Memphis, Tenn.
Freshman (2007-08): Averaged 7.9 points, while leading the team in rebounding (6.0 rpg, ranked 13th in the Big 12), blocked shots (1.3 bpg, eighth) and field goal percentage (.617) in 20.1 minutes a contest. Started 21 of 35 games. Scored in double figures 13 times and pulled down 10 or more rebounds six times. Recorded career-high 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds vs. Texas State. Posted a double-double of 16 points and a career-high-matching 12 rebounds and added four blocked shots vs. Rice. Registered first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds vs. Ouachita Baptist. Scored a team-high 15 points on 7-for-9 shooting vs. Oklahoma State. Tallied 10 rebounds and a career-high six blocked shots at Baylor.
High School: Named First Team All-Greater Houston by the Houston Chronicle as a senior. Averaged 26.1 points, 15.2 rebounds and 8.1 blocked shots his one and only year at Christian Life Center. Attended Episcopal High School in Houston his freshman through junior seasons, averaging 16.5 points, 14.0 rebounds and 7.0 blocked shots as a junior.
Strengths: Possesses a rare combination of size, length and explosiveness. Runs the floor extremely well for a big man. Needs polish, but has the ingredients you look for in a successful NBA pivot.
Personal: Majoring in general studies. Favorite NBA team is the Phoenix Suns and favorite player is Dwight Howard. Enjoys playing ping-pong.
