  • Analysis:

The Spurs once again killed with consistency, becoming the West's first 50-game winner and finishing third in the conference, reaching the Conference Finals. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili had typically solid seasons, with Ginobili earning the league's Sixth Man of the Year Award.

With several long-time contributors starting to show their age, an infusion of youth is on the horizon. Ime Udoka is primed to fill in the Robert Horry/Bruce Bowen forward role, so it's likely they'll target a backup for Tony Parker or a swingman to contribute off the bench.

    From The Media:

"Of the three Spurs' losses in this series, only Game 2 -- a 101-71 affair in Los Angeles -- was lopsided.

This series, coupled with the nail-biting, seven-game affair with New Orleans in the semifinals, has reaffirmed Popovich's belief that winning a championship requires a whole lot of luck."
