Two years after celebrating an NBA championship, the Miami Heat finished with the worst record in the league, winning only 15 games. Early on in the season, it was clear Shaq was past his prime. Mid-way through, the Heat traded The Big Aristotle to Phoenix and received Shawn Marion in return. The Heat's leader and 2006 Finals MVP, Dwyane Wade played in only 51 games as a result of a shoulder injury. Wade's limited abilities combined with a major change in the roster, greatly contributed to the Heat's struggles. With the second pick in a deep draft, Miami looks forward to heating up once again.
"But in the next few weeks -- from the start of the NBA's pre-draft camp Tuesday in Orlando through draft night in New York -- there stands to be plenty of suspense where there once seemed to be only simplicity."
-- Michael Wallace, Miami Herald
