Senior (2006-07): Finished second on team in scoring (14.5 ppg) and second in rebounding (5.7 rpg). Scored in double figures 20 times. Had a career-high 32 points on 11-for-16 shooting in a win over Coastal Carolina. Hit seven three-pointers and scored 31 points in a three-point loss to Wisconsin. Totaled 35 points and 23 rebounds in two NCAA Tournament games, including a 20-point, 11-rebound effort in a win over Notre Dame in the first round. Scored 15 points against Oregon in the second round.
Junior (2005-06): Led the Eagles in scoring (13.8 ppg). Scored in double figures 22 times, including 15 of Winthrop’s last 16 games. Scored a career-high 32 points against Liberty. Scored 24 points on 9-for-15 shooting against Alabama. Recorded two double-doubles against Auburn (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Tennessee (12 points, 13 rebounds).
Sophomore (2004-05): Led the Eagles in scoring (13.1 ppg). Scored in double figures 23 times, including a 25-point effort against Birmingham Southern in the first round of the Big South Conference Tournament. Scored 22 points and hit six three-pointers against Gonzaga in an NCAA Tournament game.
Freshman (2003-04): Averaged 8.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists. Scored in double figures seven times and had a season-high 19 points against Weber State. Scored in double figures in five of the eight games he started.
Strengths: An intelligent player who plays within his team’s system. Big-time athlete who can score by getting to the basket, catch-and-shoot threes and movement away from the ball. Plays with energy on both ends.
Personal: Son of Dwayne Martin and Jackie Martin. Has an older sister.
