An early entry candidate for the 2007 NBA Draft.
Career Highlights: Ranked 15th in the ACC in scoring while shooting .478 from the field and .419 from distance in his lone collegiate campaign.
Freshman (2006-07): Tied for the team-lead in scoring at 14.4 ppg, good for 15th in the ACC. Scored in double-figures in 25 of 31 games. Averaged 19.4 points and 5.0 rebounds, while shooting better than 50 percent from the field and from three-point range in the five games directly preceding the NCAA Tournament. Had four, 10-rebound efforts. Notched 24 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two assists against Georgia. Totaled 72 offensive rebounds and also ranked second on the team in assists (2.1).
High School: A McDonald’s All-America selection. A Second Team Parade All-American. The 2006 Tennessee Gatorade Player of the Year and a three-time All-State selection. As a senior, averaged 26.9 points, 13.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 4.3 steals and 3.6 blocks per game en route to leading Mitchell High School to the Class AA State Championship Game.
Strengths: A versatile forward who can score inside and also can step back and hit the triple. A reliable free-throw shooter. Flexible defensively as well, as he can guard both inside and outside scorers with the same efficiency.
Personal: Son of Lula Hall and Felton Young. His father played basketball at Jacksonville University (1976-78) and was drafted by the NBA’s Buffalo Braves.
