Career Highlights: Named Most Outstanding Player of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in 2007. Named First-Team All MVC and First-Team All-District by the USBWA and NABC. Played in a school-record 135 games. Named First-Team All MVC, First-Team All-District 6 by the USBWA in 2004-05. Appeared in only six games in 2005-06 before declaring a medical redshirt due to a shoulder injury.
Senior (2006-07): Led the team and Missouri Valley Conference in scoring (17.7 ppg). Totaled 66 points in the MVC Tournament, including a season-high 33 points on 10-for-15 shooting and eight rebounds in a win over Missouri State. Had 23 points and three rebounds in Creighton’s first-round NCAA Tournament loss to Nevada. Scored 28 points with a career-high seven three-pointers in a win over Nebraska. Hit three or more three-pointers in a game eight times. Scored 20 or more points 11 times.
Junior (2004-05): Led the team in scoring (17.8 ppg) and rebounding (5.1 rpg), and was second in assists (2.3 apg). Led the MVC in total points (586). Shot .517 percent from the field and 47 percent from three-point range. Scored 20 or more points 11 times, including a season-high 35 points on 10-for-14 shooting in a win over Wichita St.
Sophomore (2003-04): Scored in double figures 19 times and led the team in scoring (11.1 ppg) and assists (2.7 apg). Had a season-high, 21 points in a win over Evansville. Hit three or more three-pointers in a game eight times and shot 43 percent from behind the arc.
Freshman (2002-03): Averaged 4.7 points per game on 49 percent shooting. Shot 36 percent from three-point range. Scored a season-high 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting against BYU and scored 10 points three times.
Strengths: Solid all-around player with a very good feel for the game. Can play with or without the ball. Knows how to get open. Terrific deep stroke. Will penetrate and hit floaters in the lane.
Personal: Son of Timm and Jean Funk. Has an older brother (Justin) and a younger sister (Sara).
