Career Highlights: Earned Second Team All-America honors from The Sporting News and Third Team honors from The Associated Press as a sophomore. Also named SEC Player of the Year as a sophomore and earned First Team All-Conference honors his sophomore and junior seasons. Finished collegiate career as LSU’s 10th all-time leading scorer with 1,587 points. Also ranks sixth all-time in rebounding (916), fifth in free throws made (429) and third in blocked shots (110). Posted 44 career double-doubles.
Junior (2006-07): Led the SEC in rebounding (10.4 rpg) and ranked third in scoring (17.7 ppg). Missed four games due to a strained quad muscle. Recorded 15 double-doubles, including 10 games in which he scored 20 or more points. Scored season-high 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds at Mississippi State. Registered 24 points and 17 rebounds at Alabama. Pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds and added 19 points vs. Arkansas. Posted 24 points and 10 rebounds vs. Texas A&M. Tallied 21 points and 10 rebounds vs. Texas. Notched 25 points and 15 rebounds vs. Tennessee in the first round of the SEC Tournament.
Sophomore (2005-06): Led the SEC in scoring (18.6 ppg) and rebounding (9.7 rpg), only the fifth player in league history and first since Shaquille O’Neal in 1991 to accomplish the feat. Registered 19 double-doubles, including 11 in conference play. Scored 20 or more points 14 times. Matched career-high 28 points twice, vs. Kentucky and vs. Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament semifinals. Pulled down a season-high 16 rebounds while scoring 19 points vs. Arkansas. Scored 25 points at Ohio State. Registered 22 points, 13 rebounds and a season-high six blocks vs. Iona in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Notched 21 points vs. Texas A&M in the second round. Posted 26 points and nine rebounds vs. Texas in the Atlanta Regional Finals.
Freshman (2004-05): Averaged 13.5 points (ranked 15th in the SEC), 8.8 rebounds (second) and 1.4 blocked shots (ninth). Posted 10 double-doubles. Scored 20 or more points four times, registering a career-high 28 points vs. South Carolina and vs. Southern Miss. Tallied 26 points and grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds vs. Arkansas. Posted 17 points and 13 rebounds vs. Tennessee. Scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds vs. Ohio State. Named SEC Freshman of the Year by the league coaches.
Strengths: Has exceptionally quick feet for a player his size to go with an advanced skill level and feel for the game. Able to overpower smaller players with his terrific strength. Can also shoot the ball with range.
Personal: Majored in business management. Nickname is “Big Baby.” Also played football in high school, excelling as a running back.
