Senior (2006-07): Named to the All-ACC Second Team and ACC All-Defensive Team. Scored in double figures in all 25 Maryland victories. Recorded at least one steal in 30 of 34 games. Recorded 13 points, four rebounds and three steals vs. Miami in the ACC Tournament. Had 16 points, six rebounds and four assists vs. N.C. State. Scored 17 points in win at No. 14 Duke. Poured in a career-high 27 points in win vs. No. 5 UNC, earning back-to-back ACC Player of the Week honors. Recorded 18 points and career-high nine boards against N.C. State. Scored 17 points and tied a career-high with six steals against Notre Dame.
Junior (2005-06): Earned ACC All-Defensive Team Honorable Mention honors. Started all 32 games. Led Maryland and ranked seventh in the ACC in assists (4.0 apg). Also led the Terps and ranked sixth in the ACC in steals (1.8 spg). Recorded more assists than turnovers in 21 of 32 games.
Sophomore (2004-05): Suffered a season-ending knee injury in practice on Jan. 17. Scored in double figures in first two games of the season, with 11 points vs. Jackson State and 13 points vs. Mercer. Recorded at least two assists in nine of Maryland’s first 11 games. Scored 11 points, four rebounds and four steals in ACC opener win against Florida State.
Freshman (2003-04): ACC All-Freshman Team Honorable Mention pick. Averaged 6.2 points and 20 minutes on the season. Finished with 51 steals, including at least one steal in 24 games.
Strengths: Swarming defender on the perimeter with quick hands and terrific lateral movement. Unselfish offensive player who’ll distribute the ball. Loves to compete.
Personal: Son of Lisa Watkins and former Major League Baseball player Darryl Strawberry. Has two brothers and four sisters. Interests include baseball and video games.
