Played his final three seasons at Iowa after playing his freshman season at Iowa State. Sat out the 2003-04 season under NCAA transfer rules. Named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team after the 2002-03 season.
Senior (2006-07): Scored 30 or more points five times, including a season-high 36 in a win over Georgia State. Scored 33 and 34 points in consecutive wins over Indiana and Minnesota, respectively. Had seven or more rebounds five times, including a season-high 10 against Michigan. Just missed a triple-double against Coppin State with 31 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Had 34 points and a season-high eight assists in a win over Minnesota.
Junior (2005-06): Averaged 13.9 points and 4.7 rebounds while starting all 34 games. Shot 42 percent from the field, 35 percent from three-point range and 85 percent from the free throw line. Had 20 points against Northwestern State in the NCAA Tournament and 15 points and eight rebounds in win over Ohio State in Big Ten Tournament championship game. Scored 20 or more points four times, including a career-high 29 points in win over Penn State. Had seven or more rebounds in a game eight times, including a season-high 10 in a win against Indiana. Compiled four or more assists eight times, including a season-high six in a win over Drake.
Sophomore (2004-05): Started all 33 games. Averaged 14.7 points and four rebounds per game. Tallied 10 points, five rebounds and two steals vs. Cincinnati in NCAA Tournament. Had 10 points, three rebounds and three assists vs. Wisconsin in Big Ten Tournament , 10 points, five rebounds and three assists in win over Michigan State in Big Ten Tournament and 17 points, six rebounds and five assists in win over Purdue in Big Ten Tournament . Scored 20 or more points eight times, including a season-high 24 in a loss to Michigan State.
Freshman (2002-03): Started all 31 games for Iowa State. Was the second leading scorer among freshmen in the Big 12, averaging 9.2 points. Scored in double figures in his first nine games and eclipsed double figures in 16 of 31 games.
Strengths: Above average athlete who looks to attack offensively. Gets to the free throw line often and shoots a very high percentage. Streaky long-range shooter.
Personal: Pre-business major. Parents are Kim and Steve Haluska. His brother, Sean, earned first team all-state honors in Class 3-A in 2004-05 as a prep senior. His father is the principal at Carroll HS. High school coach was Keith Stribe.
