Analysis:
The Utaz Jazz finished first in the Northwest Division and received the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference Playoffs. The Jazz defeated the Rockets in a seven game series in the First Round and defeated the Warriors 4-1 in the Conference Semi Finals, but lost in the Conference Finals to the Spurs. During the playoff run many admired Derek Fisher for his dual role of father and player as his daughter began a procedure for reinoblastoma, a cancerous tumor in the eye. On the court, Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams led the team averaging 23.5 and 19.2 points per game in the post season, respectively. During the regular season, five players averaged double digits in points including Boozer, Williams, Mehmet Okur, Matt Harpring and Derek Fisher. Despite the painful 109-85 season ending loss to the Spurs, the Jazz dramatically improved from last year’s 41-41 record.

From The Media:
"Although the Jazz's selection is near the end of the first round, it might be comparable to a No. 20 pick in previous years given this draft's perceived strength."
