Analysis:
Although the Knicks failed to capture a spot in the playoffs, owner James Dolan re-signed Head Coach and Team President, Isiah Thomas, to a multi-year contract. Dolan's stated that his decision was based on his satisfaction with the team's improvement. While many players including Eddy Curry, Stephon Marbury, and David Lee excelled under Thomas, the team struggled as a whole. They finished the season losing 15 of the 19 games after Thomas was given his extension.

From The Media:
"SNY's Julie Donaldson caught up with Patrick Ewing last night and asked him bluntly if Curry was worth missing two lotteries. 'It's not my decision,' said Ewing, who was invited to Secaucus. 'But Eddy's a very good player getting better every year.'"
-- Marc Berman, New York Post
