The Nuggets mid-season trade with Philadelphia brought Allen Iverson to Denver and quickly transformed the Nuggets into an offensive powerhouse with Iverson and Carmelo Anthony at the helm. Anthony finished the season averaging 28.9 ppg, good for second best in the league, and the Nuggets finished third in the league in points, posting 105.4 ppg. Marcus Camby led the team on the defensive end averaging 11.7 rpg and 3.3 bpg,
earning Defensive Player of the Year honors. In the final month of the regular season Denver went 11-4, but went on to lose to the Spurs in the First Round of the playoffs.
