Redshirt Freshman (2005-06): Averaged 12.3 points and 9.2 rebounds (ranked second in the SEC behind teammate Glen Davis) and a league-leading 3.1 blocked shots. Would have ranked second in the conference in field goal shooting (.608) but fell short of the minimum requirements. Season total of 99 blocked shots was the fourth best in school history, and the best by any player not named Shaquille O’Neal. Came off the bench in the first nine games of the season before moving into the starting lineup. Missed four games late in the season, including the SEC Tournament, due to a high right ankle sprain. Scored in double figures 21 times, with four 20-point games. Posted career-high 22 points on 10-for-11 shooting vs. Nicholls State. Pulled down 10 or more rebounds 15 times, grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds twice. Earned SEC Freshman of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks in January, after a 15-point, 13-rebound, seven-block performance at Connecticut, a 13-point, career-high 14-rebound effort at Arkansas, and a 17-point, nine rebound, nine-block game vs. Tennessee. Tallied 14 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks at Ohio State. Posted nine points, 13 rebounds and five blocks vs. Duke in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. Registered 21 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks vs. Texas in the NCAA Atlanta Regional Finals on his way to Region Most Outstanding Player honors.
Freshman (2004-05): Granted a medical redshirt after suffering a neck injury in pre-season practices.
High School: Averaged 16 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks a game. Named District defensive MVP and earned All-Metro and second team All-State honors.
Strengths: Tremendous length and leaping ability make him an excellent rebounder and shot blocker. Great anticipations skills. Runs the floor like a guard and can finish plays on the offensive end. Also has a soft touch.
Personal: Nickname is “T-Time”. Favorite food is fried fish and potato salad. Favorite NBA team is the Philadelphia 76ers and favorite player is Tracy McGrady. Has worn the same uniform number (#12) since the eighth grade.
