Career Highlights: Tallied 870 career points in two seasons at Connecticut. Played in 64 contests and started 59. Averaged 13.6 points and 5.9 rebounds.
Sophomore (2005-06): All-Big East First Team selection. Named to the NABC and USBWA All-District First Team. NABC All-America First Team and Associated Press All-America Second Team choice. Led the Huskies in scoring (15.2 ppg). Recorded six double-doubles on the season and reached double figures in scoring a team-high 28 times. Named to the NCAA Washington, D.C. Regional All-Tournament Team. Finished the season with 20 points and six rebounds in a career-best 42 minutes in NCAA Elite Eight loss to George Mason. Recorded 19 points, three assists and three steals in Second Round win over Kentucky. Had 14 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals in win at West Virginia. Tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds vs. Villanova. Recorded 22 points, a career-high 13 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals in win over Syracuse. Tallied 22 points and four steals in win over Pittsburgh and followed with 19 points and 12 rebounds in win at Indiana. Led the team with 19 points in win over LSU. Scored a career-best 28 points in win over Arkansas.
Freshman (2004-05): Big East Rookie of the Year and a unanimous All-Rookie Team selection. Named National Freshman of the Year by The Sporting News. Appeared in all 31 games for the Huskies, starting the last 26. Named Big East Rookie of the Week five times. Averaged 11.8 points and 5.4 rebounds, and scored in double-figures a team-high 22 times. Scored 17 points and blocked three shots in NCAA First Round victory over Central Florida. Tallied 17 points in Big East Quarterfinal vs. Georgetown and blocked a career-high six shots in Semifinal vs. Syracuse.
Strengths: Superb athlete with a well-rounded package of skills. Can stroke the deep ball or explode to the basket. Length and leaping ability make him an excellent rebounder and shot blocker from the wing.
Personal: Competed as a member of the 2005 USA Men’s U21 World Championship team in summer 2005, averaging 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in eight games.
