Career Highlights: Earned First Team All-Big 12 Conference honors as a sophomore. Also earned First Team District 12 honors from the NABC. Currently tied for 24th all-time with 990 career points on Colorado’s all-time scoring list. Also ranks fourth all-time in three-point field goals made (130). Has scored 30 or more points three times and posted four career double-doubles.
Sophomore (2005-06): Led the team in scoring (17.0 ppg), rebounding (5.5 rpg), and steals (2.1 spg). Had eight games with 20 or more points. Posted career-high 33 points, including 6-for-11 shooting from three-point range, at Missouri. Sank six threes on his way to 30 points vs. Nebraska. Recorded a double-double of 17 points and a career-high 15 rebounds vs. Texas Tech. Tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds vs. Utah. Registered 27 points, seven rebounds, and a career-high six steals at Oklahoma State. Scored 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds vs. St. Mary’s (CA).
Freshman (2004-05): Led the team in scoring, averaging 16.0 points (10th in the Big 12) and 4.8 rebounds. Season total of 480 points was the most ever scored by a Colorado freshman, with his average second-best only to Chauncey Billups. Scored 20 or more points eight times. Sank seven three-point field goals twice, in a season-high 30 point performance vs. Kansas State and in a 29-point game at Texas Tech. Recorded a 16-point, season-high 13-rebound double-double vs. Northwestern. Tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds in a Big 12 Tournament win over Texas. Named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team.
Strengths: Good size and decent length for a two-guard. Moves well without the ball. Likes to flash out to the wing or float to the top of the key to either catch and shoot or create his own shot. Good rebounder from the guard position. Plays with confidence.
Personal: Half-brother, Kenyon Martin, is member of the Denver Nuggets. Enjoys playing video games in his spare time.
