ADAM MORRISON DRAFT NIGHT BLOG

Gonzaga's Adam Morrison was taken third overall by the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday night.

June 28 -- Finally, I’ve made it to the Garden after all the media hoopla and everything else. I’ve actually played here once before my freshman year against St. Joseph’s. All of my teammates and friends and family have called wishing me luck and hoping that it all works out. I’ve been so busy with everything draft related that I haven’t really gotten a chanced to sit down and think about what will happen once I am drafted and my goals. I just want to know what team I am on. I really don’t have any preference. There is a hotel and gym anywhere, so it doesn’t matter to me.

A lot of people have compared my game to Larry Bird. I definitely modeled my game after him, but I am not the next Larry Bird. My style is different, though it is an honor to be mentioned with him.

People also seem to have questions about how I will deal with the NBA because of the diabetes that I live with every day. I don’t see why people are wondering about that. If diabetes were a hindrance, I wouldn’t have scored 28 points per game.

I’m just lucky to be at this point and I would have to say it is because of my parents influence. They made sure I was at every game when I was younger and that I was doing the right thing. Once I hear my name called, I will officially know I have made it. But I’m not done. This is only the beginning.

J.J. REDICK DRAFT NIGHT BLOG

June 28 -- I really don’t care where I go. There are a few teams that I would like to go to – though I won’t say which ones, of course. However, I am looking forward to this process being over because there has been so much uncertainty the last couple of months. Unfortunately the past two weeks for me haven’t been my finest hour, so I am looking forward to put an end to this process and moving forward to the next chapter.

Coach Krzyzewski has been very encouraging and supportive during the past few weeks. I talked to him earlier this week and he just told me to have fun with the whole process. He said that I am experiencing a once in a lifetime opportunity, which is a blessing and not a burden.

During the draft, though, I think my teammate Shelden Williams will be picked somewhere high up on the draft board. I believe that he will be chosen somewhere in the top 10 picks in this Draft.

Yet, a really good thing about my game that I feel no one is talking about, is all the intangibles that I have. I think everybody during this process seems to focus on a guy’s wingspan, a guy’s vertical leap, or a guy’s three-quarter court sprint. But, I think I bring some intangibles to the table such as my will, my competitive spirit and my desire to win.

I’ve won my whole life and I think that is something that people should look at.
