High School: A McDonald’s All-American honoree after his prep career, and tallied eight points and three rebounds in the 2004 McDonald’s All-Star game. Was also named a Third Team Parade All-American honors. Earned All-Region and All-State honors his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Averaged 23 points, 16 rebounds and eight blocked shots as a senior, and 23 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots as a junior. Was a member of the famed frontline trio of the Atlanta Celtics AAU program the summer of 2003, which also featured 2004 NBA Draft picks Dwight Howard (Orlando Magic) and Josh Smith (Atlanta Hawks). Helped lead the Celtics to a national AAU championship.
