Career Highlights: Conference USA’s career leader in steals (264). Also finished sixth on the 49ers career chart for rebounds (765) and 18th all-time in scoring (1,066 points).

Senior (2004-05): Conference USA Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. All C-USA First Team. Finished fifth in NCAA and set team single-season record with 93 steals (3.2 spg). Recorded three or more steals in 20 games. In addition to leading C-USA in steals, finished among league leaders in scoring (15.2 ppg, 11th), rebounding (6.4 rpg, 6th), assists (3.7 apg, 9th) and field goal percentage (.487, 10th). Scored 20-plus points five times on the season and recorded seven double-doubles. Matched school record for second time with seven steals vs. Louisiana-Lafayette. Matched career-high with 27 points vs. Tulane. Grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds vs. Central Connecticut State.

Junior (2003-04): Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year. Ranked among C-USA leaders in rebounding (6.4 rpg; 12th), steals (2.3 spg, 2nd) and field goal percentage (.536, 5th). Pulled down a then career-high 15 rebounds vs. UAB in C-USA Tournament. Scored a career-high 27 points vs. ECU. Posted first career double-double vs. George Washington.

Sophomore (2002-03): Led the 49ers in rebounding (6.9 rpg, 14th in C-USA) and steals (61, 3rd), and finished second in assists (74). Finished seventh in C-USA in offensive rebounds (3.0 per game). Tied Charlotte record with seven steals vs. DePaul. Recorded seven or more rebounds 17 times, as well as 17 multiple-steal games.

Freshman (2001-02): Finished second on the team in steals (42) and fourth in rebounds (128). Recorded best game at Miami with 12 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Pulled down 12 rebounds in win over DePaul and nine vs. Tulane. Came off knee surgery (left knee – meniscus) in summer of 2001.

Strengths: Tough, athletic and defensive-minded two-guard who has a good nose for the ball. Has good end-to-end speed and thrives in an up-tempo style.

Personal: Mother is Deborah Dawson. Originally signed with UMass but was given a release when head coach Bruiser Flint resigned.
