Career Highlights: Named Mid-Continent Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore. In only two seasons, already ranks as Chicago State’s all-time leading shot-blocker (132) and ranks eighth in Mid-Continent Conference history. Has posted 13 career double-doubles.
Sophomore (2004-05): Led the Mid-Con and ranked 21st nationally in blocked shots (2.5 bpg). Also ranked third in rebounding (8.6 rpg) and field goal percentage (.563). Season total of 70 blocks broke his own school record. Recorded 12 double-doubles, including a stretch of five in a row from Jan. 13 to Jan. 29. Registered career highs of 28 points and 21 rebounds vs. Wisconsin-Green Bay. Tallied 19 points and 18 rebounds at Southern Utah. Blocked a career-high eight shots in the rematch. Posted a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds at Minnesota. Scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds at Illinois. Hit all seven field goal attempts in scoring 16 points at Valparaiso. Notched a double-double of 19 points and ten rebounds in the rematch in the regular season finale.
Freshman (2003-04): Paced the Mid-Con in blocks (1.9 bpg) while ranking second on the team in rebounding (4.9 rpg). Set a single season school record with 60 blocks. Season field goal percentage of .585 was the second-highest in school history. Scored in double figures 11 times, including the last five games of the season. Posted season highs and recorded his only double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds vs. Southern Utah. Tallied 16 points, nine rebounds and five blocks at Valparaiso. Registered 15 points, nine rebounds, and a season-high six blocks vs. Wagner. Scored eight points at Pittsburgh. Hit all five shot attempts in scoring 11 points vs. IUPUI in the Mid-Con Tournament semifinals.
Strengths: Very good athlete for his size. Runs the floor extremely well and uses large wingspan and excellent leaping ability to block shots. Still learning how to play the game.
Personal: Has six sisters. Selected Chicago State over St. Mary’s, Rutgers, and St. Peter’s.
