Career Highlights: Named All-District by the NABC and USBWA as a junior. Ranks as the fourth all-time on Western Carolina’s scoring list with 1,838 points and is the program’s all-time leading scorer since it moved to NCAA Division I in 1976-77. Also ranks third all-time in three-point field goals made (174), third in free throws made (534) and second in career free throw percentage (.841). Earned All-Southern Conference honors from the league’s coaches all three seasons of career, and led the league in scoring his junior and senior seasons.
Junior (2003-04): Ranked second nationally in scoring (24.9 ppg). Scored 30 or more points eight times, topping the 40-point mark twice. Opened season with a season-high 44-point outburst at Georgia, sinking 7-of-14 three-pointers. Scored 33 points, 26 in the second half, in an upset victory at Arkansas. Shot 14-for-24 from the field in scoring 42 points against Elon. Registered 36 points the next game at Davidson, and hit a single-game school-record 21 free throws (out of 23 attempts) on his way to 37 points at East Tennessee State.
Sophomore (2002-03): Ranked 10th nationally in scoring (22.8 ppg). Set a single-season school record for free throw percentage (88.3%). Exploded for career-high 46 points in season opener against Coastal Carolina. Registered 39 points and a season-high eight rebounds at UNC-Asheville. Tallied 37 points and seven rebounds against UNC-Greensboro, shooting 11-for-12 from the field and 12-for-13 from the free throw line. Recorded 33 points and seven rebounds at College of Charleston. Led team with 27 points against Georgia Southern in the Southern Conference Tournament.
Freshman (2001-02): Led team in scoring (22.1 ppg), ranking second in the conference and 11th nationally. Scored season-high 39 points, shooting 7-for-11 from three-point range against The Citadel. Posted 38 points against VMI. Scored 34 points at UNC-Greensboro. Posted first career double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds at Florida State. Set a school record with 42 consecutive made free throws. Named to the National All-Freshman team by CollegeInsider.com.
Strengths: A score, who can step back and make the three or take the ball to the basket and draw fouls. Has a very quick first step and uses the dribble to create separation from his defender.
Personal: Majoring in sports management. Nickname is “K-Mart”. Favorite NBA team is the Sacramento Kings.
