An early entry candidate for the 2005 NBA Draft. Named to the Parade All-America Third Team.
High School Career Highlights: Named Mr. Basketball in Florida as a senior. Named Central Florida’s Player of the Year by The Orlando Sentinel. Named Florida’s Class 6A Player of the Year. Set a DeLand career scoring record with 2,299 points over four seasons. Also added 1,080 rebounds and 314 assists. Four-time All-State selection.
2005 Postseason All-Star Games: Scored six points and grabbed two rebounds at the Jordan Classic.
Senior (2004-05): Averaged 30.3 points, 12.0 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 4.0 steals. Broke DeLand’s single-season scoring record with 788 points.
Junior (2003-04): Averaged 24.4 points and 11.1 rebounds.
Strengths: Has decent range and the ability to penetrate from the perimeter. A good defender with athleticisim.
Personal: Brother, Jimmy Brumbaugh, was a star football player at Auburn and is now an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. His other brother, Jordan Brumbaugh, played football at Tuskegee and is hoping to be signed as an NFL free agent soon.
