A Big East Honorable Mention selection. Named one of 30 candidates for the John R. Wooden Award. Hit double figures 21 times and registered two 20-plus scoring games.
Junior (2002-03): Led Pittsburgh to 28-5 record, 2003 Big East Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen. Selected to USBWA All-District 1 Team and NABC All-District 3 Team. All-Big East Third Team selection. Named Big East Championship’s Most Outstanding Player. Named team’s best defensive player at the team banquet. Led Panthers in scoring (12.2 ppg). Scored career-high 25 points against Syracuse.
Sophomore (2001-02): Ranked second on the team in scoring (12.2 ppg). Scored 18 points in the Panthers’ loss to Kent State in the NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen. Helped the team advance to the round of 16 by scoring 17 points in a win over California.
Freshman (2000-01): Became a starter in December and made 25 consecutive starts the remainder of the season. Ranked second on the team in scoring (9.1 ppg). Scored in double figures 14 times. Connected on a team-high 43 three-pointers. Scored a season-high 22 points in an NIT victory over St. Bonaventure.
Strengths: Has a 39-inch vertical leap. Aggressive defender, who will body up his opponent. Shows good form on his jumpshot.
Personal: Son of Selina Page. One of seven children. Named Julius by his parents after Dr. J (Julius Erving). His father was at a basketball game when his mother went into labor, so they decided to name him Julius. Known for his stylish headbands and sporting a T-shirt with one sleeve under his jersey, and has created his own clothing line (T-shirts and headbands) with the J.P. (Julius Page) insignia.
