Career Highlights: Only player in ACC history to record 1,000 points, 800 assists, 475 rebounds, 300 steals and 125 three-point field goals. Finished second in Duke history in assists (819) and first in minutes played (4,813) and steals (300). A part of three ACC Championship teams and member of the 2001 National Championship team. Duke was 123-21 during his tenure. Scored in double figures 57 times with 12 career games with 10 or more assists.
Senior (2003-04): A finalist for the Wooden, Naismith and Rupp Player of the Year Awards. Named Third Team All-America by The Associated Press and First Team All-ACC. Also named to the ACC All-Defensive and All-Tournament teams. Led Blue Devils in assists (6.1 apg, 14th in nation), steals (2.2 spg) and minutes (35.4 mpg). Had 15 points and six assists against Connecticut at the Final Four. Grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds to go with eight assists against Illinois in the Sweet Sixteen.
Junior (2002-03): An All-ACC Third Team honoree. Averaged 9.2 points, 6.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.9 steals. Led Duke in assists (212), steals (62), starts (32) and minutes played (1,188). Ended the season ranked 11th in the NCAA in assists. His 212 assists ranked 10th on Duke’s single-season list. Was second in the ACC in assist/turnover ratio (2.16).
Sophomore (2001-02): Averaged 8.9 points and 3.1 rebounds, while leading team with 5.9 assists, 2.3 steals and 35.1 minutes per game. Ranked second in the ACC in steals (2.3 spg) and assist/turnover ratio (2.26) and fourth in assists (5.9 apg). Was first among ACC sophomores in all three categories. His 2.3 steals per game ranked 29th nationally. Tallied 10 or more assists four times during the season. Scored in double figures 16 times.
Freshman (2000-01): Named Second Team Freshman All-America by The Sporting News. Named 2001 ACC Rookie of the Year, the first such honoree under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. Played in all 39 games, averaging 7.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
Strengths: Tenacious defender with excellent ballhandling skills, court vision and leadership qualities.
