Career Highlights: Member of the 2004 NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team. Earned First Team All-Big East honors as a senior, and was named First Team All-District I by the NABC and USBWA. Ranks as the sixth all-time leading scorer in Connecticut history (1,795 points). Is the school’s all-time leader with 242 three-point goals made and ranks second in career three-point shooting percentage at 42.3 percent. Scored 20 or more points 39 times in his career, topping the 30-point mark five times.
Junior (2003-04): Averaged a team-leading 18.5 points (ranked 50th in the nation), 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Connected on 104 three-pointers, the second-highest single season total in school history. Exploded for a career-high 37 points against Nevada. Canned a career-high eight three-point shots on his way to 28 points against Quinnipiac. Scored 17 points and posted career-highs of 16 rebounds and 11 assists for a triple-double against Iona. Set a Big East Tournament record with 81 total points, earning tournament Most Outstanding Performer honors. Earned Most Outstanding Player of the Phoenix Regional honors in the NCAA Tournament after posting 36 points against Alabama in the Elite Eight. Recorded 18 points against Duke in the Final Four. Scored 21 points against Georgia Tech in the NCAA Championship Game. Led the tournament field with 127 total points, averaging 21.2 points in six games.
Sophomore (2002-03): Averaged a team-leading 19.5 points (ranked 50th in the nation) and also led the team with 156 total assists. Scored 20 or more points 17 times, including a season-high 32 points at Miami. Scored 50 points in three Big East Tournament games and earned All-Tournament honors. Scored 29 points against Stanford in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Earned Second Team All-Big East honors.
Freshman (2001-02): Ranked second on the team in scoring (12.6 ppg), despite coming off the bench for most of the season. Scored a season-high 23 points on four different occasions, including in a win at Arizona, where he also added nine assists. Recorded 23 points and hit the game-winning three-pointer against Villanova in the Big East Tournament. Named to the All-Tournament team. Earned Big East All-Rookie Team honors.
Strengths: Complete guard who can score, handle and pass. Has excellent strength, athletic ability and body control. Plays bigger than his size.
Personal: Majoring in pre-business administration. Moved to the United States shortly after birth.
