Originally an early entry candidate for the 2003 NBA Draft before withdrawing his name from consideration. Participated in the 2003 Chicago Pre-Draft Camp.
Career Highlights: A native of Serbia & Montenegro who grew up in Austria and played in the top Austrian League from 1999-2003. He played in the Austrian All-Star Game in 2001 and was named Rookie of the Year the same season. Named Second Team All-League in 2002. A member of Austria’s Under-22 National Team.
2003-04: Signed with Red Star Belgrade of the Adriatic League in the summer of 2003. Appeared in 27 games, averaging 9.0 points and 3.9 rebounds. In the ULEB Cup, appeared in 10 games, averaging 8.0 points and 4.7 rebounds. Appeared in six games of YUBA League competition, averaging 5.7 points and 4.8 rebounds.
2002-03: In the FIBA Champions Cup, had a sensational tournament, averaging 20.9 points and 5.1 rebounds while hitting 62 percent of his two-point shots. In the Austrian League Finals against Gmunden, scored 19 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and tallied three assists to help Kapfenberg win three straight to overcome an 0-2 deficit and win the best-of-five league championship.
2001-02: Enjoyed a breakout season as an 18-year-old, averaging 17.2 points and 6.3 rebounds. He finished 15th in the league in scoring while playing about 33 minutes per game.
Strengths: A big man who likes to step outside on the perimeter and hit the jumper. He will play inside and shoots a very high percentage when in the post. Can pass out of the post and anticipates situations well.
