Career Highlights: A member of France’s national team, one of three players from French League power Pau Orthez who are 2003 NBA Draft prospects, joining his brother Mickael and Boris Diaw-Riffiod. Played in the French Pro A League All-Star Game in 2002. Helped Pau Orthez to the French national championship in 2001 and the French National Cup in 2002. Came up through the ranks with Pau Orthez’ junior team and made his debut by playing six games in 1999-2000 season. His playing time and importance to the team have grown each season.

(2002-03): Averaging career-highs in points and rebounds this season. Posted 19 points (on 7-for-11 shooting) and captured six rebounds vs. Vichy. Had very productive game against Hyeres-Toulon, scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in only 19 minutes. Compiled 10 points and 12 rebounds vs. Roanne. Suffered injured right knee that caused him to miss all league games in January, but returned in February and posted four straight games with at least 16 points in March.

(2001-02): Averaged 8.3 points and 5.0 rebounds in just over 20 minutes per game. Came through with excellent performance in playoffs, notching 18 points and six rebounds in one-point loss to Villeurbanne. Scored 15 points in only 17 minutes in win over Nancy. Top effort of the regular season was season-high 20-point, eight-rebound effort in two-point win over Paris.

(2000-01): Averaged 6.4 points and 3.1 rebounds in 17 minutes per game. Contributed 11 points (on 4-for-4 shooting) in playoff win over Le Mans. Notched 12 points and seven rebounds in 25-minute playoff outing vs. Villeurbanne. In regular season, tallied 15 points and six rebounds in victory vs. Bourg-en-Bresse.

(1999-00): Elevated from junior team for seven games.

Strengths: Despite his lack of height for the position, he plays mostly at power forward. He is an excellent defensive player who crashes the boards and will mix it up inside.

Personal: Older brother of Mickael Pietrus, a teammate and an early entry candidate for the 2003 NBA Draft.
