An early entry candidate for the 2002 NBA Draft.
In June 2001, the Kentucky Supreme Court ended a long series of court actions involving his eligibility by setting aside an injunction that had allowed him to play at Louisville during the 2000-01 season.
An economics major that carried a 3.8 grade point average, Lasege was an honors student at Louisville who continued his education there after the ruling ended his collegiate basketball career.
Played with Nigerian junior national team.
Has spoken English since he learned it in school as a child.

One of three celebrated Nigerian basketball players who were brought to Russia in 1999 under questionable circumstances and have had eligibility problems related to their brief stay there ever since.
The other two Nigerians are Benjamin Eze, who played at the College of Southern Idaho during the 2000-01 season and subsequently applied for early entry into the 2001 NBA Draft; and fellow 2002 NBA Draft early entry candidate Uche Okafor, who played at the College of Southern Idaho, signed to play with Missouri for the 2001-02 season and also was denied eligibility by the NCAA.
