A member of the USA Today All-USA Basketball First Team.
Also named to the Parade Magazine All-America High School Boys Basketball First Team.
Named to the McDonald's All-America Team.
Named High School Player of the Year in the state of Georgia as a senior.
  Scored 1,539 career points.
Originally intended to accept a scholarship offer from the University of Florida before changing his mind and opting for the NBA Draft.

"It is obvious Kwame's decision was based on helping his family," said Florida head coach and former NBA player Billy Donovan. "It is hard to fault anyone for trying to provide for their family. I certainly respect that decision, because family should be the most important decision in anyone's life."

As a high school senior at Glynn Academy, averaged 20.1 points, 13.3 rebounds, 5.8 blocked shots, three assists and two steals.
Helped his team to a 24-8 record.

At the McDonald's All-America Game, scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked a game-high five shots, including a turnaround jumper in the lane by Eddy Curry.
Made seven of 18 field goal attempts and all three free throw attempts.
Added three assists and one steal.
"He played a lot of this season on bad ankles, but he really worked on his offensive game and started shooting the jump shot facing the basket very well," said Glynn Academy coach Dan Moore. "He didn't block as many shots as we thought, solely because people wouldn't come in there. They knew better."
As a junior, averaged 15.5 points, 11.6 rebounds, 6.1 blocked shots and 3.5 assists. Helped team to a 28-2 record.
