2013-14 Season

Only three players in Division I averaged a double-double in conference play: Kentucky’s Julius Randle, Washington State’s D.J. Shelton and Stokes (15.1 ppg, 11.1 rpg). Stokes put together his best season in Knoxville, earning All-SEC first-team honors. After just two and a half seasons, Stokes ranks first in school history in offensive rebounds (337), eighth in rebounds (836) and 13th in blocked shots (94).

Key statistics: 15.1 ppg, 10.6 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.1 tpg, 0.9 bpg, 32.4 mpg, .531 FG, .696 FT

Cool statistic: Stokes’ 45 assists in SEC play were the second most on his team (2.5 apg).

What Insiders Say

Former Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin

“Jarnell is going to go down as one of the best big men to ever play at Tennessee -- certainly one of the most dominant rebounders ever to wear the orange.”

What Outsiders Say

UMass forward Sampson Carter

“He has a big lower body. He has a strong upper body, but extremely big lower body, so he stands with his arms up, and it's hard to get around. He does a good job out there. You can tell he's been taught well.”
