NBA projection: Daniels has been projected as a late-first round or early second-round pick.

2013-14 Season

Daniels led UConn in rebounding and was second in scoring, but he was at his peak during the NCAA tournament, where he averaged 16.0 points and 7.2 boards and shot .487 from the field and .857 from the free-throw line as the Huskies won the national title.

Key statistics: 16.4 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.5 bpg, 1.5 tpg, 29.0 mpg, .469 FG, .417 3PT, .787 FT

Cool statistic: Daniels is the 16th UConn player to leave school early for the NBA Draft. Thirteen of the previous 15 were lottery picks.

Reminds me of: Tayshaun Prince

What Insiders Say

Connecticut coach Kevin Ollie

“He's a mismatch nightmare when his game is on. We can manipulate the defense, take him down on the post. He can pick and pop, and we try to utilize him in a lot of different ways.”

What Outsiders Say

Florida coach Billy Donovan

“He's really become extremely versatile. He posts up, he shoots 3s, he's putting it on the floor, he can start the break, he passes, he rebounds, he's playing really hard for their team. I think watching UConn now and getting prepared for them in December, there's no question he's really continued to progress and grow.”
