- Sixteenth Pick: Lucas Nogueira

Strengths
- 7-footer with a long wingspan
- Athletic, runs the court well, strong in transition
- Quick reflexes should make him a strong shot blocker in time
- Offensive game has improved but still has a way to go
- Quick feet, solid footwork, good hands
- Solid rebounder who anticipates well

Weaknesses
- Needs to add weight and strength, unsure if his frame will support much added weight
- Lack of strength hurts him defensively inside
- Lacks defensive fundamentals
- Still needs to mature both mentally and physically

NBA projection
An athletic 7-footer, who can run the court very well, with untapped potential will always be selected in the first round. Look for Nogueira to go toward the end of the first round and be kept in Spain for a few years to develop.

2012-2013 Season
Nogueira continues his development against top competition in the Spansh ACB. He didn't get a lot of time much of the season. However he averaged 12 ppg in the last four games of the year, including a 21-point effort against Murcia. He's starting to show some decent offensive moves around the basket.

Key statistics
5.5 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 0.3 apg, 1.1 bpg, 12.9 mpg, .667 2PT, .667 FT

Cool statistic
Nogueira has been measured with a 7-6 wingspan.

What Insiders Say
Carl Berman, NetScouts Basketball
"Nogueira seems to be moving up the board based on his recent improvement and an increased focus on working on his game. He's still a risk as he is still very thin and may not be able to fill out much. He'll be another player drafted on his potential and will likely need another several years in Spain to develop".

Aran Smith, NBADraft.net
"Quickly becoming a chic choice among European scouts as the top ranked International player for this year's draft. He made big strides in the past year showing a much greater commitment level to improving his game and staying focused both on and off the court. He still needs to add toughness, but was a big factor . He left a bad taste in a lot of scouts mouths with his uninspired performance at the Treviso Eurocamp in 2011. But has come a long way since then and stands an excellent chance to be a first rounder, and possible move into the middle of the first."

Os Davis, BallinEurope.com
"Somewhat of a defensive specialist, Nogueira improved some facets of his game, including his post play, enough in 2012-13 to garner an ACB Rookie of the Year nomination. Still a work in progress, this seven-footer could nevertheless become a valuable shot-blocker and presence in the paint in the NBA."
