  • Height/Weight: 6-8 / 212
  • Birthdate: April 3, 1991
  • College: Georgetown

Strengths:
*Great 3-point shooter with NBA range
*Length
*Good athlete
*Good work ethic
*Competitive
*Isn’t afraid to rebound

NBA projection:
Thompson has been rated by draft analysts as a second-round- to undrafted prospect. If it’s true that one elite-level skill can earn a player a spot on an NBA roster, Thompson has a chance, because he’s a great shooter with deep range. In his junior season, Thompson expanded his game and began to be less one-dimensional, but the skill that will earn him some money is shooting.

2011-12 Season:
Thompson was second on his team in scoring and third in rebounding. He led the Big East in 3-point shooting percentage and was voted All-Big East honorable mention.

Key statistics:
12.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, 1.7 tpg, 0.7 spg, 0.5 bpg, 31.1 mpg, .464 FG, .430 3PT, .679 FT

Cool statistic:
Thompson is the all-time leading three-point shooter at Georgetown with a career 44 percent success ratio.

Daequan Cook

What Insiders Say:
Georgetown coach John Thompson III
“We all know Hollis can shoot. He doesn’t lose confidence in himself and we don’t lose confidence in him. We just have to make sure we get him shots.”

What Outsiders Say:
St. John’s assistant coach Mike Dunlap
“Hollis got free on us and that made a huge difference [in a game won by Georgetown when Thompson scored 20 second-half points]. We were able to control the paint, defensively, in the first half. I thought Hollis was the difference in that he spread out our zone.”
