Knicks 2014 Summer League Roster Features D-League Alumni and Local Talent

WESTCHESTER, July 14, 2014 – The 2014 Samsung NBA Summer League, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, is in full swing with the New York Knicks getting the win in their first two games against Dallas and Portland. The Knicks will go for their third consecutive win against NBA Development League standout P.J. Hairston and the Charlotte Hornets today (Monday, July 14, 2014) at 4:00 p.m. EST.

Following today’s contest, the NBA Summer League will feature a tournament-style schedule starting Wednesday, July 16 and ending with the crowing of a NBA Summer League Champion on Monday, July 21. All Knicks games will air live on MSG Network.

The New York Knicks 2014 NBA Summer League roster features seven players with NBA Development League experience, including recent second-round draft selectee Thanasis Antetokounmpo. The 21-year-old forward from Greece most recently spent the 2013-2014 season with the Delaware 87ers, the D-League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, and became the sixth player in NBADL history to be selected in an NBA Draft.

The Knicks’ Summer League roster also features local talent with Port Chester, N.Y. native Jordan Henriquez on the 2014 squad. Henriquez most recently played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the D-League affiliate of the Houston Rockets.

The remaining players with D-League experience are: Cole Aldrich, Shannon Brown, Zane Johnson, Shane Larkin, and Jeremy Tyler.
