Who are the Westchester Knicks?

The Westchester Knicks are the NBA Development League affiliate of the New York Knicks. The NBA D-League is the official minor league of the NBA, providing hardcore basketball fans with access to NBA prospects being groomed to impact the next level through high-level competition and comprehensive training and instruction.

The Knicks will tip-off their inaugural season this November and will play all 24 of their home games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains; only ten minutes from the Knicks Practice Facility in Greenburgh. The regular season runs November – April with playoffs culminating at the end of April.


Our History:

On March 10th, 2014, the NBA, The Madison Square Garden Company, & Westchester County announced the establishment of the 18th franchise in the NBA Development League and Westchester County’s first ever professional sports franchise. After an overwhelming amount of submissions to a team naming contest, the fans had spoken and on May 14th, County Executive Rob Astorino unveiled the logo and team name of the Westchester Knicks.


What can I expect at a Westchester Knicks game?

Many fans are familiar with attending a minor league baseball game. The NBA D-League is similar in providing a fun, affordable, family entertainment product, but different in the sense that the competition is only one level below the NBA. In the NBA D-League, fans will see first and second round draft picks, in addition to veterans either attempting a comeback or working through a medical rehab program.
