Utah’s Kyrylo Fesenko Assigned To Utah Flash

NEW YORK, Jan. 6 2009 – The Utah Jazz assigned center Kyrylo Fesenko to the team’s NBA Development League affiliate the Utah Flash, it was announced today. Fesenko is the 18th player to be assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate this season.

Originally drafted in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft by the Philadelphia 76ers, Fesenko has appeared in 19 career games for the Jazz during the last two seasons and holds career averages of 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds.

Last season, the 7-1 Ukrainian native was assigned to the Flash three times. During his assignments he averaged 10.1 points and 7.7 rebounds in 37 games, 23 starts.

Prior to being drafted, Fesenko played for the First Team in the Ukrainian SuperLeague during the 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. During that stint, he averaged 7.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in six games. Fesenko also appeared in five 2005 FIBA EuroCup contests, averaging 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds. A member of the Ukranian National Team, Fesenko averaged 6.8 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks at the 2005 U20 European Championships in Moscow.

Fesenko is expected to join the Flash tonight when they host the Anaheim Arsenal at 7:15 at the McKay Events Center in Orem, Utah as part of the 2009 NBA D-League Showcase.
