Oklahoma City’s D.J. White Assigned To Tulsa 66ers

NEW YORK, March 18, 2009 – The Oklahoma City Thunder today assigned D.J. White to the team’s NBA Development League affiliate Tulsa 66ers. White is the 34th assignment of the 2008-09 NBA D-League season and the 29th NBA player to be assigned to the NBA D-League.

White, a 6-9 forward, has yet to appear in a game for the Thunder this season after undergoing initial jaw surgery on Oct. 9, 2008. He was cleared by doctors on March 16 to resume full contact drills.

Selected in the first round (29th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons, the Thunder acquired White as part of a draft-day trade. A four-year contributor at Indiana University, White averaged 17.4 points and 10.3 rebounds during his senior season.

White will join the 66ers today in Broomfield, Colo. and is expected to be available for tonight’s game against the Colorado 14ers.
