Tulsa Travels to Rio Grande Valley this Friday and Saturday

TULSA, Okla., March 28, 2012 The Tulsa 66ers (22-24) return to the hardwood this Friday and Saturday, March 30 and 31, with back-to-back road contests against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (22-24). Both games are set to tip at 7 p.m. CT inside State Farm Arena.

The 66ers are coming off of a 108-102 home defeat to the Bakersfield Jam on Tuesday night. The Vipers, who have dropped eight straight games heading into this weekend, were last defeated by the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Friday by a 105-94 final tally.

Tulsa is 1-1 against RGV this season, with both meetings coming at home on March 2 and 3. The Vipers took the first game by a 99-94 final before the 66ers bounced back the next night to win 109-100.

The 66ers head into this weekend leading the NBA D-League in total defense, as opponents are scoring just 93.9 points per game against Tulsa this season. The 66ers are also tied for second in field goal percentage defense (.451).

The 66ers have several individuals at or near the top of several statistical categories. Marcus Lewis, who leads the league with 31 double-doubles this season, is pulling down a D-League best 12.6 rebounds per game. Offensively, Jerome Dyson is currently 11th in the league by averaging 17.5 points per outing.
