SPRINGFIELD, Mass., January 3, 2014 - The Tulsa 66ers topped the Springfield Armor, 102-75, on Friday night at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. The 66ers defense held Springfield to 24-for-68 shooting (35.3 percent), tying Tulsa’s franchise record for lowest number of opponent field goals.

Five 66ers scored in double digits, including three players with 19 or more points. Tulsa went 15-for-33 from behind the three-point line, sinking its second most three-pointers in franchise history. Tulsa’s long-range success was led by Xavier Alexander and Grant Jerrett, who combined to shoot 10-for-13 from behind the arc.

Mario Little led all scorers with 23 points, eight rebounds, five steals and three assists. Jerrett scored 20 points with four boards while Alexander collected 19 points, five rebounds and six assists. Ben Uzoh scored 13 alongside eight assists and three boards.

The 66ers dished out 23 assists while holding the Armor to six (four of which came in the fourth quarter) – the second lowest all-time total by a Tulsa opponent.

Tulsa forced 18 Armor turnovers while surrendering a season-low of nine.

Tulsa (3-13) began the night on a 23-4 run to propel it to a 38-17 lead at the end of the opening quarter. The 66ers shot 9-for-12 from three-point range in the first while holding Springfield to 6-for-21 shooting from the field.

The 66ers continued to build their lead through the next two quarters and led 90-50 after three quarters before being outscored 25-12 in the final frame. The 66ers led the entire contest, stretching their lead to as many as 41.

The Armor (3-11) was led by Darius Johnson-Odom with 16 points.

Tulsa continues its six-game road stretch against the Maine Red Claws on Sunday at 4 p.m. The contest marks the 66ers’ fourth-consecutive road game and third game in four days.
