Offensively, the 66ers shot 40-71 (.563) from the floor against the Thunderbirds. As a team, Tulsa recorded 20 assists, led by Vaden with four dishes.
Tulsa, who improved to 2-0 against New Mexico this season, forced 20 turnovers and collected nine steals on the defensive end.
Leading the Thunderbirds was Dar Tucker with 22 points and Shane Edwards with a team-high eight rebounds.
The 66ers and Thunderbirds will square off again tomorrow night, March 19, to complete the back-to-back set at 8:30 p.m. CT in Rio Rancho. The contest will mark Tulsa’s final regular season road game of the season.
