Tulsa Concludes Preseason Contests
“This weekend was good for our guys to get out and compete,” Tulsa 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said. “I thought we showed some positive signs on both ends of the court. However, there are areas where we need to improve and we need to see more consistency. We’ll get back to work this coming week.”
Austin rushed out to a 16-2 lead in the first quarter, but saw the 66ers close the gap to 31-23 after the opening frame.
After trailing 60-45 at halftime, Tulsa stepped up the defense and closed within two points after three quarters, 79-77.
“We really challenged our team at halftime and I thought they came out and competed,” Tibbetts said. “That was the kind of effort we need to see for four quarters.”
The 66ers open their season on the road with back-to-back contests against the Bakersfield Jam on Nov. 19 and 20. Tulsa’s home-opener is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 26 against Iowa. For ticket information and purchases call (918) 585-8444.
