Tulsa Concludes Open Tryouts

TULSA, Okla., Oct. 21, 2012 - The Tulsa 66ers, proud affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder, concluded open tryouts Sunday morning at the SpiritBank Event Center.

The tryouts began Saturday with two two-hour sessions featuring 63 NBA D-League hopefuls. All of Saturday’s participants were invited back to one of three hour-long sessions on Sunday.

Competing for potential invitations to 66ers training camp in November, Sunday’s final sessions predominately featured 5-on-5 full-court scrimmages.

The tryout’s participants came from all across North America, representing 17 different states and one Canadian province. Twenty-five of the players are from Oklahoma.

The front office staff will evaluate the tryouts over the coming weeks, with the NBA D-League Draft on Nov. 2 playing a major role in the construction of the 66ers roster.

Tulsa will have the sixth pick in each of the Draft’s eight rounds. No trades will be permitted during the draft and only players signed to an NBA Development League Standard Player Contract are eligible to be selected.

The 66ers open the 2011-12 season on its new home court on Nov. 23 against Texas. For season ticket information, call the 66ers ticket office at (918) 585-8444.
