The 66ers representatives were guest readers for several classrooms at the site, entertaining students with the book Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney. Each student and reader was able to take home a copy of the book as well as a stuffed toy llama.
“Jumpstart’s Read for the Record” really fits perfectly with what our mission is: putting a focus on early childhood programs and education with a big focus on literacy,” Marketing and Public Relations Director Rainey Talbot said. “Reading to the kids this early on creates good habits and an interest in reading. Having guest readers, like the Tulsa 66ers, highlights to the kids how important reading is. This is a great opportunity to bring the community together to be a part of something exciting and important.”
