Pair of Weekend Games Await 66ers

TULSA, Okla., Dec. 3, 2010 – The Tulsa 66ers (3-2) seek their third straight victory Saturday evening when they take on the Texas Legends (3-1) at 7 p.m. in Frisco, Texas, inside Dr. Pepper Arena.

The game can be viewed online via webcast at nba.com/futurecast.

Tulsa, who is coming off of a 94-83 win against the Austin Toros Thursday evening, is 1-1 this season on the road.

“As coaches, we don’t talk about the next game, but you know it’s three games in four nights,” Tulsa 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said. “Our focus and energy has to be on the upcoming game. I thought we played extremely well defensively on Thursday against Austin and we will look to carry that effort and intensity into this weekend.”

The 66ers are led this season in scoring by Zabian Dowdell’s 18 points per game. The guard is also averaging 5.6 assists and 3.4 steals per outing. Oklahoma City Thunder’s Cole Aldrich is averaging 8.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Saturday’s contest will mark Tulsa’s first matchup against Texas, who is competing in its first season in the NBA D-League. The 66ers and Legends are scheduled to matchup eight times this season.

The 66ers will then return to Tulsa to take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers this Sunday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. inside the Tulsa Convention Center. It marks the first matchup between the two teams since last year’s D-League finals. RGV owns a 13-8 advantage over Tulsa all-time.
