Thunder’s Steven Hill Assigned To Tulsa 66ers

NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2008 – Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Hill was assigned to the Tulsa 66ers, the Thunder’s NBA Development League affiliate, it was announced today. Hill is the first player to be assigned from Oklahoma City to Tulsa since the Professional Basketball Club, LLC assumed control of the NBA D-League franchise on July 31, 2008.

Hill, 7-0, has appeared in one game for the Thunder this season, scoring two points and grabbing three rebounds in two minutes of action. In three preseason games with Oklahoma City, Hill scored three points and pulled down two rebounds in 27 minutes. Hill was in training camp with the Portland Trail Blazers this season, where he averaged 1.09 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.67 blocks and 9.0 minutes in three games.

A four-year contributor at Arkansas, Hill averaged 4.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks and 19.5 minutes while shooting .518 from the field. Hill was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year as a junior when he averaged 2.8 blocks for the Razorbacks.

Hill, the season’s fifth player to be assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, is expected to join the 66ers today. He will wear number 99.
