EA Sports Features Latavious Williams

TULSA, Okla., Oct. 22, 2010 – Latavious Williams, who played in 47 games for the Tulsa 66ers last season, recently appeared in his second feature of EA SPORTS NBA JAM: D-League Journey.

Williams became the first player to make the jump from high school to the D-League. After his first season in the Development League, Williams was selected with the 48th pick in the 2010 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat, only to then have his rights traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

While many of his high school classmates were heading to college, the 6’8”-210 pound Williams decided to forgo the backpack for basketball shoes and pursue his dream of playing professional basketball. Despite the wide array of options that lay before him, Williams chose to enter the NBA Development League, making him the first high school graduate to do so. Playing for the Tulsa 66ers, Williams’s game is marked by length and athleticism and coaches were immediately impressed by his tireless work-ethic and eagerness to be a student of basketball."
