Clevaland Cavaliers Call-Up Chris Quinn

TULSA, Okla., March 20, 2013 – Tulsa 66ers guard Chris Quinn has signed a contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers for the remainder of the season, the team announced Wednesday. Quinn is the second 66er and to receive a GATORADE NBA Call-Up this season and the 18th call-up in the team’s eight-year history.

The NBA D-League has seen 28 GATORADE Call-Ups this season.

Quinn was acquired by Tulsa from the available player pool on Dec. 28 and saw action in 25 games (23 starts) with the 66ers. During his time in Tulsa, Quinn averaged 12.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.5 minutes.

A five-year NBA veteran, Quinn was originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Miami Heat in 2006. The guard spent three seasons (2006-2009) with Miami, averaging 5.6 points, 2.2 assists 1.3 rebounds in 168 games (26 starts). Quinn spent the next two seasons with the San Antonio Spurs and New Jersey Nets, bringing his NBA average to 4.6 points, 1.9 assists and 1.1 rebounds.

The Notre Dame product played overseas in 2011-12 with Khimki Moscow in Russia, averaging 7.6 points, 1.9 assists and 1.9 rebounds in 21 league games. Before joining the 66ers, Quinn had spent the 2012-13 NBA training camp with the Utah Jazz and then a brief stint with Valencia in Spain.
