Big Fourth Quarter Fuels Tulsa to OT Win
Cole Aldrich posted eight points, a game-high 13 rebounds and four assists and Elijah Millsap led the 66ers in scoring with 23 points. Ryan Reid added 15 points and nine rebounds.
"I challenged our team after the third quarter to keep fighting and give us a chance, 66ers head coach Nate Tibbetts said. Our guys are really sticking together and they are continuing to compete, even when it's not going well. It was a battle that came down to the end. We can learn from a game like this and I was proud of the way we fought at the end.
Also scoring in double figures for Tulsa was Robert Vaden with 14, Jerome Dyson with 13, Latavious Williams with 12 and Marcus Lewis with 11.
The 66ers, who trailed by as many as 16 in the contest, outrebounded the Bighorns by a 56-43 margin and held Reno to 40-91 (.440) shooting.
Offensively, Tulsa held a 60-42 advantage in points in the paint to improve its record to 3-0 this season in overtime games.
The Bighorns were led in scoring by Patrick Ewing, Jr. and Anthony Richardson with 20 points each. Ewing, Jr. also recorded 13 rebounds and Donald Sloan posted a game-high seven assists.
The 66ers will return to the court this Saturday, Jan. 22, at home against the Texas Legends at 7 p.m. inside the Tulsa Convention Center.
