Anderson, Taylor Take a Timeout to Read

TULSA, Okla., January 25, 2013- Tulsa 66ers players Ron Anderson and Tony Taylor visited Union Public School’s Andersen Elementary in Broken Arrow on Thursday.

The two read to a lively audience of 60 kindergarteners and exemplified the importance of positive role models.

“It’s very important because these kids are influenced by a lot,” said Taylor. “If they see good role models coming out and reading to them and just being active with them, then I think that will help in the long run.”

The 66ers participate in various reading and community outreach programs throughout the season to show appreciation and contribute to the Tulsa community.

“I love kids,” said Anderson. “All the guys love kids, we love just being able to inspire them and come out and see their faces and see them cheer and want to be a part of what we’re doing. It all starts when you’re young. You have young minds, and you’re influenced by a lot of things so we’re just happy that we can be a positive influence to them.”
